What this covers
AMP Search runs retained executive searches for startups. This notice explains how we handle personal data about the people we deal with: founders and hiring teams at client companies, candidates we approach or who contact us, referees, and visitors to this website.
What we collect
- Contact and business details: name, job title, company, email address, phone number and LinkedIn profile.
- Career information about candidates: CVs, employment history, skills, qualifications, salary and notice expectations, location and right to work, and notes from our conversations.
- Call notes and recordings: with your knowledge, we may take notes on, record or transcribe calls so we can represent you accurately.
- Booking details: when you book a call, the details you enter into our booking page.
- Website data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
We collect this from you directly, from the people who refer you to us, and from public professional sources such as LinkedIn and company websites.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- Running searches: identifying, contacting and assessing candidates, and presenting suitable candidates to clients. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing a recruitment service, and yours in hearing about relevant roles.
- Working with clients: managing the relationship and delivering the contract. Our basis is performance of a contract and our legitimate interests.
- Sharing a candidate with a client: we only share your details with a named client once you have agreed to be put forward for that role.
- Legal and accounting obligations: such as keeping financial records. Our basis is legal obligation.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
Our clients, for roles you have agreed to be considered for, and service providers who process data on our behalf under contract. These include our recruitment CRM and booking system, email and calendar, meeting notes and transcription, and website hosting. Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK's approved contract clauses to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep candidate data for 2 years after our last meaningful contact with you, so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Client and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires (usually six years).
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable form. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time. Email jamie@amp-people.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.

This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. Our booking page is provided by our recruitment CRM and has its own privacy terms.
Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
